Recent Victron Case Studies: Real Power Systems in the Field

The best way to understand a power system is to see how it performs in the field. These three recent Victron case studies cover a mobile food business, a state park amenity, and a private aircraft hangar. Each one started with a different power problem and ended with a system built around it.

Mobile Ice Cream Truck Power System: Sweet Cow Moomobile

Sweet Cow Moomobile ice cream truck with Victron power system

Sweet Cowโ€™s Moomobile fleet brings ice cream to weddings, graduations, and office events across Colorado. The truckโ€™s previous lead-acid battery and inverter system had become unpredictable, with failures that were difficult to trace during live events.

The replacement is a Victron lithium system built for dependable operation and clearer diagnostics. It includes 11.52 kWh of Victron lithium battery storage, a Victron inverter/charger with alternator charging, and Cerbo GX monitoring with remote VRM access. Since commissioning in December 2025, the Moomobile has completed a full season of events without the failures that affected the previous system.

Solar Dog Wash Station at Chatfield State Park

Solar dog wash station at Chatfield State Park powered by Victron

Mutt Jackson needed to run three self-service dog wash bays at Chatfield State Park without a utility connection or regular diesel generator runtime. The system had to support commercial wash equipment while keeping the site independent from the parkโ€™s infrastructure.

The Victron solar and battery system combines 92 kWh of lithium storage, an 11 kW solar array, split-phase 120/240V inverter power for all three bays, and remote monitoring with generator backup capability. The wash stations now run on solar and battery power during normal operation, without drawing from park utilities.

Solar-Powered Aircraft Hangar with Remote Control

Solar-powered aircraft hangar with Victron remote control

A private pilot needed a better way to preheat aircraft engines without arriving at the hangar hours before a flight to start a generator. The previous solar system drained the battery too quickly and offered no remote visibility.

The upgrade kept the existing 11.26 kWh 48V battery bank and 910W solar array, adding a right-sized Victron MultiPlus-II inverter/charger and remote monitoring and control through VRM. The owner can now switch on the engine block heaters from home and arrive to an aircraft that is warmed up and ready.
