Description

The Egis Mobile Electric XD Single 500A Heavy Duty Battery Switch / Mechanical Contactor is designed for high-current battery disconnect and power-management applications where reliable mechanical switching and durable environmental protection are required.

With a 500A continuous current rating and up to 1,500A maximum cranking current, this XD Series mechanical contactor provides a compact solution for demanding DC electrical systems. The unit operates across an 8–36V DC voltage range and uses silver alloy contact points to support high-current, full-voltage switching.

The XD Single features a bright yellow, high-visibility manual control knob that makes the switch status easy to identify. The manual control allows the switch to be forced open or closed and can be left in either position for a locked-off or locked-on condition.

Built for demanding environments, the contactor has a sealed IP67 / IP6K9K construction and an integrated Gore-Tex pressure-regulation vent designed to help prevent moisture entry caused by internal pressure changes. The unit is also ignition protected, making it suitable for installation in gasoline-powered boats and other combustible environments.

The compact rectangular housing is designed for surface-mount or rear-panel installation while minimizing the space required for a high-amperage battery switching solution. Large mounting holes accommodate 1/4-20 / M6 mounting hardware, while stainless steel M10 terminal studs and self-locking flanged nuts provide durable high-current connections.

A protective terminal cover is included to help prevent accidental shorts between the power terminals or between a terminal and ground. The cover also provides convenient label recesses for circuit identification.

The XD Single can also be integrated with other XD Series components using optional 8790 Link and 8791 Cross Link Busbars, allowing additional XD Series devices to be connected for expanded battery and circuit-management configurations.
